Degenerative Disc Disease

Degenerative disc disease (DDD), is the progressive breakdown of the discs in the spine due to age, genetic factors and overall lifestyle. It is one of the most common causes of low back and neck pain.

  •      Pain with activities that include bending or twisting
  •      Neck or back feels like it is unable to provide support
  •      Pain when sitting or standing for long periods of time
  •      Muscle tension or muscle spasms

For most people, this condition can be treated with non-surgical methods, such as taking medications for pain and inflammation, as well as exercise and physical therapy. Be sure to consult with your primary care physician to come up with a treatment plan together, as this condition can worsen over time if not properly treated.
